• Digital transformation induces sharp changes in society and the economy - in particular, regarding the latter, the transformation of businesses is heavily driven by ICT projects. In this paper, we analyze the specifics of ICT projects in digital transformation, the success factors of ICT projects in digital transformation in Germany, and different stakeholders’ perspectives on the issue. For this purpose, we have interviewed experts with different backgrounds and have synthesized their statements using content-structuring qualitative content analysis. The findings indicate some specifics of the digital transformation context such as its interdisciplinarity, strategic relevance, and new demand for collaboration. Furthermore, certain factors concerning project management instruments as well as the quality of leadership and culture in addition to communication and involvement of stakeholders are of major importance. However, the emphases of the different success factors strongly depend on the background of the role of the experts.
