Sexualisierte Gewalt und die Rolle des Jugendamtes – Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbedarfe

Sexualized violence and the role of the youth welfare office— Research and development needs

  • With the Child and Youth Strengthening Act (KJSG) having taken effect in June 2021, the development and implementation of protection concepts have been given a legal basis in many fields of action of child and youth welfare. Sexualized violence is a specific challenge that requires corresponding competencies, qualifications and structures. The youth welfare office has a key function here. Highly problematic case histories have recently made it clear that this key function needs to be critically reviewed and systematically strengthened. In particular, the topics of qualification, assistance planning and protection concepts need to be focused on. What is still needed are practical and needs-based knowledge bases, a strengthening of professional competence, the further development of organizational structures and the establishment of independent quality standards. The joint project “Focus Youth Welfare Office – Participatory knowledge transfer on cooperation, assistance planning, and protection concepts in public child and youth welfare services (FokusJA)” addresses these desiderata with a combined research and transfer approach.
