N2  - Social Software ist aus dem Alltag von Internetnutzern nicht mehr wegzudenken und hat mittlerweile auch in Bibliotheken Einzug gehalten. Die folgende Arbeit stellt die Fotocommunity Flickr vor und zeigt ihre Einsatzmöglichkeiten in Bibliotheken auf. Anhand von praktischen Beispielen werden Anwendungen erkannt und analysiert, gleichzeitig anschaulich demonstriert. Außerdem werden potentielle Einsätze in Informationseinrichtungen von Flickrs Funktionsvielfalt abgeleitet. Dabei thematisiert die Arbeit Flickr unter anderem als Bilddatenbank, als Instrument für die Unterstützung der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und stellt digitale Bildersammlungen vor. Die Arbeit verdeutlicht damit, wie durch den Einsatz von Social Software Prozesse im Bibliotheksumfeld bereichert werden können.
